The Thompson School District Board of Education has officially voted on a name for the new PK-8 school at the Conrad Ball Middle School campus, which will consolidate Mary Blair Elementary, Monroe Elementary, and Conrad Ball Middle School.
The Board has selected “Peakview Academy at Conrad Ball” as the school’s name, which will officially launch next fall for the 2023-2024 school year. Conrad Ball Middle School is fully operational with students and staff this year while renovation work continues at the site. The Conrad Ball Middle School name will be utilized throughout the remainder of the school year.
This past January, Valerie Lara-Black was selected to serve as the new PK-8 school’s principal. Ms. Lara-Black is currently working as the principal at Mary Blair Elementary and will officially assume her new duties next summer. On October 31, John Steckel joined the Conrad Ball Middle School team as interim principal at the school, filling the position that was vacated by Todd Ball, who has departed the district.
