Patricia Virden has been named the Executive Director of Student Support Services for Thompson School District, effective July 1. She will fill the position that will be vacated by Charlie Carter, who is retiring from the district.
Since 2019, Mrs. Virden has been employed as the Executive Director of Student Services for Mesa County Valley School District 51 in Grand Junction, Colo. Before working in that position, she also most recently served in the district as an assistant principal at Clifton Elementary School and as the principal of Rocky Mountain Elementary School.
“I am thrilled at the opportunity to become a member of the Thompson School District leadership team,” Mrs. Virden said. “As an educator in Colorado, I have been particularly impressed with the performance outcomes of students in Thompson School District. I look forward to working my hardest to support the vision of empowering to learn, challenging to achieve, and inspiring to excel. I can’t wait to meet my future colleagues, families, students, and members of this beautiful community.”
Mrs. Virden earned a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education-Elementary Education from the University of Maine and has a Master’s degree in Special Education Affective Needs from the University of Northern Colorado.
