Thompson School District announced today that it has named Kathy Sather as principal of Garfield Elementary School. She will fill the position that is being vacated by John Kleiber, who has accepted the principal role at Bill Reed Middle School, effective July 1.
Since 2014, Ms. Sather has been serving as the principal of Monroe Elementary School in Loveland. The campus will be closed at the conclusion of the school year, and the community will be consolidated into the new Peakview Academy at Conrad Ball. Ms. Sather’s experience within Thompson School District also includes service as an Early Literacy Teacher on Special Assignment, as well as an Instructional Coach and Gifted and Talented Teacher. She began her career as an instructor at the Long Beach Unified School District in Long Beach, California.
“I am so excited about the opportunity to be a part of this wonderful integrated arts community and to continue helping children achieve their dreams,” Ms. Sather said. “I will greatly miss the Monroe community, and I am wishing you all the best as you transition to Peakview Academy at Conrad Ball.”
Ms. Sather earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education/Special Education from the University of Northern Colorado, and she also holds a Masters degree in Educational Leadership from Colorado State University.
