Mary Lain Named Principal of Walt Clark Middle School

Thompson School District is pleased to announce that it has named Mary Lain as the principal of Walt Clark Middle School, effective July 1. She will fill the position that is being vacated by Christine Smith, who is departing the district.

Ms. Lain is currently serving as an assistant principal at Mountain View High School, where she coordinates testing and focuses on teacher evaluation and coaching, school safety, professional development, student support and the school’s classroom literacy initiative. She also has extensive experience as an English instructor, graduation coach, and coordinator of professional development options for staff.

“I am honored and excited to extend my service to the Thompson community as the principal of Walt Clark Middle School,” Ms. Lain said. “I eagerly anticipate the future ahead for our scholars, and I am committed to fostering an environment of growth, learning, joy, and success. I look forward to our journey towards educational excellence, empowering our students to reach their full potential.”

Ms. Lain earned a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary English, a Masters Degree in Teaching, and an educational specialist degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Northern Colorado.
