Dr. Olivia Gillespie has been named principal of Lucile Erwin Middle School, effective July 1. She will fill the position vacated by Jennifer Bradshaw, who is departing the school.

Dr. Gillespie is currently serving as the Reading, Writing, and Communicating Content Specialist for the Office of Standards and Instructional Support at the Colorado Department of Education, a role she has held since 2018. Prior to that position, she worked as the Dean of Instruction for two years for Denver Public Schools. Her career also includes experience as a secondary English Language Arts teacher along with other positions for Aurora Public Schools, as well as the principal role at John Amesse Elementary School for Summer Scholars Unlimited. “I am honored and humbled by this opportunity to serve the students, families, faculty, and entire community as the next leader of LEMS,” Dr. Gillespie said. “I look forward to working with each of you as we challenge, empower, and inspire ALL LEMS students to maximize their potential to achieve postsecondary success as citizens in our global society.”
