Thompson School District is pleased to announce that Steven Dike has been named principal of Thompson Valley High School, effective July 1. He will fill the position vacated by Jaymie Cruickshank, who has been serving in the role temporarily after retiring from the school district last summer.

Mr. Dike is currently serving as the Grade 7-12 principal of Ainsworth Community Schools in Ainsworth, Nebraska, a position that he has held since 2018. Before that, he worked for 17 years as the principal of Lansing High School in Lansing, Kansas, and for 2 years as the principal of Crest High School in Colony, Kansas. Mr. Dike’s career experience also includes service as a secondary science instructor.

“I am thrilled to be named the next principal of Thompson Valley High School,” Steven Dike said. “This is a community that clearly values its students and their success, and I am eager to contribute to that mission. I look forward to meeting everyone soon and officially joining the Thompson Valley family.”

Mr. Dike earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Kearney State College, and he also holds a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
