TSD Assistant Superintendent Dr. Melissa Schneider Named Superintendent of Parkway Schools

Dr. Melissa Schneider, Thompson School District Assistant Superintendent of Learning Services, has been named the Superintendent of Parkway Schools in Chesterfield, Missouri, effective July 1, 2025. The Parkway Schools Board of Education announced the hiring in a public meeting on the evening of Wednesday, December 11.

Dr. Schneider has served in her current role since 2022. Before that time, she worked as the district’s Director of Professional Development. Before joining Thompson School District in 2019, Dr. Schneider served as the Coordinator of Excellence and Equity for Littleton Public Schools in Littleton, Colorado. Through that position, she provided leadership and vision toward the district’s strategic plan and worked to eliminate barriers to student performance due to societal inequities or unique learning needs.

Dr. Schneider has vast experience analyzing district growth and achievement data, including program evaluations, to assess needs and outcomes. Her 27-year career in education includes experience as a classroom teacher, mathematics instructional coach, gifted and talented facilitator, literacy coach, principal of the Village for Early Childhood Education in Littleton Public Schools, and an adjunct faculty member at the Morgridge College of Education at the University of Denver.

“I will greatly miss the amazing students, families, staff, and community members whom I work with at Thompson School District,” Dr. Schneider said. “Our work together and the memories that we’ve made will continue to inspire me for many years to come.”

Dr. Schneider earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana, and a master’s in Education Administration from the University of Phoenix. She completed her Ph.D. in Research Methods and Statistics with a focus on Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at the Morgridge College of Education at the University of Denver.
