Thompson School District is pleased to announce that it has named Sara Rasmussen as Assistant Superintendent of Learning Services, effective July 1. She has been serving in the role in an interim capacity since March 31.
Prior to the interim appointment, Ms. Rasmussen served as the district’s Executive Director of Elementary Schools. Her tenure with the district began in 2011 when she joined the team as the principal of Monroe Elementary School. Ms. Rasmussen’s career also includes instructional experience as an elementary school teacher, instructional coach and assistant principal. In total, she has over 27 years of experience in education.
“I am deeply honored to serve as the Assistant Superintendent of Learning Services,” Ms. Rasmussen said. “I am committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement, where every decision is driven by our goal of academic excellence for each student. Together, we will ensure that each learner has access to high-quality instructional experiences that inspire them to graduate from TSD as effective collaborators, communicators, critical-thinkers, self-advocates and productive citizens. I look forward to collaborating with students, staff, families, and the community as we build on our strengths and pursue a shared vision for success.”
