On Tuesday evening, Thompson School District staff and leadership came together to celebrate excellence in education at Thompson Education Foundation’s annual event, Trailblazing Thompson: A Salute to Excellence. The celebration recognized outstanding staff across the district, honoring Elevate Thompson recipients, TSD retirees, and winners of the Thompson Education Foundation Educator of the Year award.
Congratulations to the 2026 TEF Educator of the Year award winners: TSD Staff Member of the Year Ron McGarr of Peakview Academy; Rookie Teacher of the Year Katie Kouns of Harold Ferguson High School; Elementary Teachers of the Year Daniel Garcia of Truscott Elementary School and Mandy Farrar of Big Thompson Elementary School of Nature and STEM; Secondary Teacher of the Year Tristan Oliver of Thompson Valley High School; Principal of the Year Keysha Martin; and TEF Educator of the Year Ben Evensen of Harold Ferguson High School.
Congratulations also to the 2026 Student Choice Awards winners: Kate Atrash, Mountain View High School language arts teacher; Jess Burdick, Bill Reed Middle School FACS teacher; Jordan Jennings, Berthoud High School counselor; Chandon Perry, Loveland High School art teacher; Jacob Little, Thompson Valley High School FACS teacher; and Chelsea Stuvel, Mountain View High School language arts teacher.
