Monica Ramos Carlson Named Principal of Bill Reed Middle School

Thompson School District announced today that Monica Ramos Carlson has been named principal of Bill Reed Middle School, effective July 1. She will fill the position that is being vacated by John Kleiber, who is departing the district.

Ms. Ramos Carlson currently serves as the Dean of Students at Boltz Middle School in Poudre School District. She has worked as an administrator in both middle and elementary school settings since 2023. Before relocating to Colorado, she lived in Utah and served as a middle school and high school assistant principal in Davis School District. She began her career in education as a school counselor and went on to serve as a district Multi-Tiered Systems of Support coach before transitioning to school leadership.

“I feel so fortunate to be joining Bill Reed Middle School and its team of dedicated educators,” Ms. Ramos Carlson said. “I am sincerely committed to the promise of public education for all students and I’m excited to be a part of such a vibrant community.”

Ms. Ramos Carlson earned her undergraduate degree in English Education from Utah Valley University and a Master of Science degree in Psychology, as well as principal licensure, from Utah State University.
