Thompson School District is pleased to announce that Dr. Jason Germain has been named Director of Human Resources, effective July 1. He will fill the position that is being vacated by Valerie Lara-Black, who is departing the district.
Dr. Germain is currently serving as the principal of Harold Ferguson High School and as the founding principal of the Thompson Career Campus in Thompson School District. He has an extensive background in public education, including service in the Douglas County School District as a department chair at Mountain Vista High School, principal of Plum Creek Academy, Coordinator of Instructional Support Services, Director of Special Projects, and Chief Student Advocacy Officer. Among other career highlights, he has also worked as a part-time instructor at Metropolitan State University of Denver and at the University of Northern Colorado.
“Serving as principal for the past ten years has been the privilege of a lifetime, and I am profoundly grateful to our incredible students, staff, and families for their unwavering partnership and shared dedication,” Dr. Germain said. “While I will deeply miss the daily energy, connections, and inspiring moments on our campus, I look forward to continuing to support our entire school community in this new district role.”
Dr. Germain earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology from State University of New York at Cortland. He also holds a doctorate in school psychology as well as an Education Specialist degree in educational leadership from the University of Northern Colorado.
