Thompson School District announced today that it has named Shawn Collins as principal of Loveland High School, effective July 1. He will fill the position that is being vacated by Michael James, who has departed the district.
Mr. Collins is currently serving as an Assistant Principal and Master Scheduler for Arvada West High School in Arvada, Colorado, a position he has held since 2014. Among his duties at the school, he worked as the activities director and assessment coordinator, while also managing Career and Technical Education programs at the campus. Mr. Collins also actively works with the Colorado High School Activities Association, where he initiated, planned and guided the development of Esport opportunities for students.
“I am excited to be joining the Thompson School District family and especially Loveland High School,” said Mr. Collins. “I am honored to be chosen as principal at a school that excels at such a high level in academics and that has a rich history in athletics and performing arts.”
Shawn Collins earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Metro State University. He also holds a Masters degree in School Leadership from Jones International University.
